We car-pooled out to Kelly Point from the Freddy's parking lot in Tigard. We stopped at the "Ole, Ole" Mexican Cafe in the old downtown district of Lombard, on the way to Kelly Point, for a wonderful lunch. We talked about launching our own website, as we need to attract new members, so Alfredo volunteered to follow up (thank you).
Few people were at Kelly Point, so we had most of the place to ourselves. From a short walk on a new smooth asphalt trail, we went straight to the beach and saw the majestic Columbia River. A short walk down the beach brought us to the exact confluence, as marked by a long pier of logs, of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. The beach sand was fine and the place surprisingly clean. We continued down until we met the confluence of the Columbia Slough with the Willamette River, then took the asphalt trail back to the parking lot. A big grassy meadow opened up in the forest. Our feet were very happy. Lastly, we saw a big freight-liner slowly moving up river. We all had a good time.
